ND Women played back-to-back Hallyburton Johnstone Shield matches against the Auckland Hearts on the 16th and 17th November. Game One saw ND bat first and set their opponents a solid target of 248 to grab the win points on offer. Bay of Plenty local Tash Wakelin top scored with 55 runs.
Auckland had little trouble in chasing the target down and cruised to a seven wickets victory in the 44th over. Saachi Shahri (76) Maddie Green (65) and Izzy Gaze (41no) did the majority of the damage.

Twenty-four hours later Aces number three Maddie Green smashed an unbeaten 118 off 124 balls. Green was still there as her side were removed for 194, which based on the previous day's batting performances, looked to be a very gettable score.
The hosts were made to work hard and just got home with a solitary wicket to spare. The majority of the team made useful starts without any of the teams batters bringing up a half-century
The two matches were notable for local Nensi Patel, who made her ND debut at thirteen years of age in 2016, to bring up her 100th ND Women's game and her 50th List A match.

Bay of Plenty v Northland (Fergus Hickey Rosebowl)

Bay of Plenty kickstarted their 2024/25 Northern Districts senior representative season, with a rare easy win over longtime rivals Northland, in their Fergus Hickey Rosebowl two-day match on the 2nd & 3rd of November.
The Bay side won the toss and took first use of a Bay Oval wicket that looked likely to provide plenty of runs. Bay of Plenty opener Sebastian Heath made the first real inroads and hit a careful 42 from 87 balls.
Peter Drysdale carried on the momentum batting, at six, with 75 runs. The Drysdale innings, saw him become just the second Bay of Plenty batsman to break through the four-thousand-run barrier.
Bay of Plenty seized the initiative at eight down with 204 runs on the board. Ben Vyver (43) and Harry Burns (49) combined with Peter Drysdale to take the Bay of Plenty total through to 328 all out.
Drysdale put on a man of the match performance with his right arm off-breaks to grab four wickets as the Northland first use of the wicket was extinguished with just 178 runs in the book, The match fizzled out with Northland reaching 31/0 in their second turn at bat with the hosts taking first innings points from the match.
